Today I have announced the participants and the subject for the first Nordic Master Class for young talented photographers from the Nordic countries. The subject will be The welfare states and the participants must create their stories from the Nordic countries with this overall subject. In co-operation with our partners in the other Nordic countries we have selected the following 16 photographers for the workshop:
From Norway: Paul Sigve Amundsen, Hanne Hvattum, Marie Sjřvold, Luca Kleve-Ruud. From Sweden: Moa Karlberg, Linda Forsell, Casper Hedberg, Lars Lindqvist. From Finland: Ossi Ahola, Raisa Kyllikki Karjalainen. From The Faroe Islands: Bardur Eklund. From Iceland: Völundur Jónsson From Denmark: Stine Larsen, Tariq Mikkel Khan, Mads Nissen, Casper Balslev.
The Nordic Master Class is the first workshop of it's kind in the Nordic countries. The workshop is being financed by The Nordic Center for Journalism (NJC) in co-operation with, among others, The Institute for Journalism in Norway and The Danish School of Media and Journalism. The purpose is to bring young, talented photojournalists from the Nordic countries together and give them an possibility for further development of their skills.
I will be the co-ordinator of the workshop and the teachers will be international well renown photographers and picture editors. The workshop will have two meetings, where the participants will be given lectures and coached in their work. In between the two meetings each participant will produce a picture story on the chosen subject: The welfare states.
